Norwich Over the Water

Norwich Over the Water is the historic quarter of the city that lies north of the River Wensum, taking in Colegate, Magdalen Street, Fishergate and some of Norwich's finest medieval churches and merchants' houses. It is a characterful, tightly built part of the city centre in the NR3 postcode, where trees appear in churchyards, walled courtyards and along the riverbank rather than in large open gardens.

This is technical, access-led work. Trees in churchyards and courtyards here often need reducing or removing in confined spaces surrounded by historic and listed buildings, with timber lowered by hand or craned out rather than felled in the open. Riverside trees along the Wensum also need periodic management where they overhang paths and the water. Our team has the training and equipment for this kind of careful urban dismantling, and we take great care to protect the historic fabric around every site.
