Bowthorpe

Bowthorpe is a planned suburb on the western edge of Norwich, built from the 1970s as three linked "villages" - Clover Hill, Chapel Break and Three Score - arranged around the historic ruined church of St Michael and the green space of Bowthorpe Marsh. The estate was laid out with generous landscaping, tree belts and green corridors, and that amenity planting has now matured into substantial trees close to homes, footpaths and parking areas.

As those trees have grown, so have the everyday problems that come with them: crowns pressing against houses, branches shading gardens and blocking light, and roots lifting paths and driveways.
